Example of blocky selection

SUMMARY
If you hold shift to add to a selection while zoomed out, it produces a very blocky selection. The more zoomed out, the more blocky.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a new document
2. Zoom out to maximum
3. Choose freehand selection tool
4. Make a selection normally
5. Hold shift and make a new selection to add

OBSERVED RESULT
The first selection is smooth, but the added selections are blocky, as though they are at a smaller resolution.

EXPECTED RESULT
The added selections should be just as smooth as the first one.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The same result is observed whether on vector or pixel mode and whether or not anti-aliasing is checked.

I can confirm this for the 4.4.3 and Apr 21 5.0.0-prealpha (git 3eda0b9) appimages on Debian 10.

Using a mouse, both selections are as blocky as each other.
Using a stylus, the first selection is quite smooth but the Shift-added selection is blocky.
