We have added the Windows Vista style again because it looks more modern. However, it doesn't work well with color themes. Go to digiKam setup under Miscellaneous-> Appearance and select the "Fusion" or "Windows" style. We have already set the default in digiKam-7.3.0 back to "Fusion" so that color themes are immediately available. Maik Cool - thank you so much!

Created attachment 137651 [details] screenshot of default theme SUMMARY Digikam default colourscheme not "optimal" font colour in thumbnail view and pop-ups is white on white background. Theme cannot be changed, only default scheme available for selection although themes files are present in the right directory. Issue occurs with digikam version 7.2.0 and beta 7.3 and remains after several reinstallations. I have no problem with 7.2.0 rc installed on other PC (with same OS) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Settings --> Themes 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT No theme other than default can be selected and default theme is defect EXPECTED RESULT option to select among included themes SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 home macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
