SUMMARY
The grouping no longer works. 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
The action group on an item shows the small blue rectangle with the number of photos contained in the group, but does not display the group frame.
The command show/hide grouped items does not work anymore.
Only allowed : degroup

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing changes after the following actions:
- Menage database
- Shutdown/restart DK 
- Shut down/restart computer
- Uninstall/reinstall DK.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10 

Is it a bug, a forgotten parameter or an intentional prevention/ban ?

The problem cannot be reproduced. Grouping and ungrouping works without any problems. I think you selected under View-> [x] Show All Grouped Item As Open.

Digikam is sensational, but very difficult to dominate. 
A complete and up-to-date manual with usage tips and explanations of the inner workings would be super helpful, but is how difficult to manage in your environment.
