An option to automatically clear all notification history after checking the notifications, as well as being able to automatically clear notification history for specific applications, would be a great addition to KDE.

As a specific use-case example, KDEConnect sends notifications from Android to KDE. The notifications stay in the history for as long as the user doesn't clear them manually, even if the notifications were cleared on Android already. I think it would be beneficial to be able to set KDEConnect's notifications to automatically delete on KDE (not on Android) after seeing them, as they usually aren't useful after being seen.

Additionally, it might be useful to add different parameters to this, as in automatically clear every few minutes, or a specific amount of minutes after it was received or seen.

With https://invent.kde.org/network/kdeconnect-kde/-/commit/8d521540a87333906a51175c07756ca98b573e54 notifications from KDE Connect are removed from the history when they are removed on Android

Oh wow, nice! I'm glad that's already getting fixed.

However, I still think that this would be a nice addition to KDE. It can still be useful for other apps that misbehave when it comes to notifications, some of which aren't under KDE.

It would also be a great addition since most of the time I still just clear all notifications, and doing this automatically instead of having to click twice would be faster.

Yeah I have the same use case. An option to "automatically clear when closing pop-up" would seem reasonable to me.

Or alternatively, we could make it close the pop-up automatically when you click the clear button. Same thing, really...
