This section is generally meant for advanced users I believe. For 99.999% of users, they will connect via the Network applet on their panel. So don't do it from System Settings; this is an expert UI for users who want to customize every little random setting. The "I'm a regular user who just wants to quickly connect to a wifi network" UI is the Networks applet in the System tray. Click on it to open the popup that lists wifi networks, then click on the "Connect" button next to the wifi network you want to connect to, and then enter the password. Nice and simple. :) |
