When frozen can you right click on the dekstop and get a context menu? Created attachment 136697 [details] attachment-28838-0.html No, the plasma shell seems to be completely frozen. No context menu and no krunner. But curiously KWin seems to still work fine. So I can continue working with existing application windows and even use ALT-Tab. That's why I often realize that Plasma is frozen after a couple of minutes. I have tried to track the issue down, but I was not able to find anything obvious in the logs.
