SUMMARY

The kio-extras works fine with pictures thumbnails: png, gif and jpg in Android via MTP. Thanks!

But only videos thumbnails in Android: mp4, webm and other formats do not work. And I can not open them in Android too.
But they have to be automatically transferred to my local "~/.cache/kioexec/krun/" when clicking MPV player that can open videos in my local, but not in Android.

GNOME Nautilus works fine with videos thumbnails, no need to transfer to my local.

Can you fix it like Nautilus please? :)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect to Android via MTP
2. Open Dolphin
3. See videos do not show preview thumbnail in Android.
4. Click any video with MPV then this video is automatically transferred to your local "~/.cache/kioexec/krun/".
(4.) Click any video with SMPlayer, then error without transfer to local.

EXPECTED RESULT

It's supposed to work like GNOME Nautilus.

I just have experienced this myself on openSUSE TW using Android 11 and would like to see this working better, too!

I forgot to mention: I have experienced this issue with mp3 audio books, which I wanted to tag via kid3. Thumbnails are not shown in Dolphin in the MTP Android folder and when opening them in kid3, files are copied first to the local cache folder.

After saving, these files are copied back to the MTP connected storage. This means a lot of copying back and forth in my case.

This issue is old, but it was already fixed.
