SUMMARY
When playing a video in Kodi, media controls do not show up. Is it a bug in KDE Connect or does Kodi may be not support some standard?

Kodi needs to support the MPRIS2 interface.

Apparently that can be done via https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:MPRIS_D-Bus_interface

Thank you very much for clarification! Unfortunately it seems to be that the add-on is not supported anymore, though.
