SUMMARY
Mails moved into an IMAP folder don't show up in other clients and the web client. They only exist in the local storage and are essentially lost when setting up the IMAP-account on a different machine

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. move email to different folder
2. synchronize
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Mail available on local machine, can be read, interacted with, but not available in 3rd party clients

EXPECTED RESULT
mails synchronize with ease between different OS and clients, thanks to the magic of IMAP
