SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Comment 1 Michail Vourlakos 2021-03-06 15:48:38 UTC
how can I reproduce this?
Comment 2 Sancho Panso 2021-03-11 18:08:11 UTC
Hmm, so I installed a fresh Manjaro KDE image. Then I installed aur/latte-dock-git r4567.589b5f00-1 (Installed: r5139.a153ed71-1), placed Latte Dock Panel on the top of the screen, created 1 file on the Desktop.

I saw a similar issue here https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391073. And fix worked well for Plasma 5.18, but now Plasma is 5.21 and we see the same bug with latte.

I use Plasma 5.21 in my Tumbleweed and is working correctly. You probably need someone that uses Arch in order to find out what is going on and a solution for the case.

I don't think it's Arch related issue. How can I help you find out what is wrong?
Comment 6 Michail Vourlakos 2021-03-11 22:44:07 UTC
I am out of ideas
Comment 7 Sancho Panso 2021-03-11 23:53:54 UTC
Is it possible to add some debug points to the code and then I will recompile it?
Comment 8 Sancho Panso 2021-03-19 13:17:45 UTC
So what to do with this bug?

probably nothing.
Either there will be appear more users reporting this with concrete steps to reproduce in my system or in the future some other person that will have the issue in its system will provide a fix.

Sure, but a strange thing - this problem exists on 2 different PCs running Manjaro KDE. Now I'm downloading Tumbleweed and then I will install it on VirtualBox to check if it will work properly on other OS.
Comment 12 Sancho Panso 2021-03-19 18:25:58 UTC
So, I installed https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:Teogramm/latte-dock and it doesn't have this bug.
Comment 13 Michail Vourlakos 2021-03-19 18:58:21 UTC
Are you sure in Manjaro the latest latte git version is used? Have you forced rebuild for aur package?
Comment 14 Sancho Panso 2021-03-19 19:04:59 UTC
I manually downloaded https://invent.kde.org/plasma/latte-dock repo and then built it with `sh install.sh`
Comment 15 Sancho Panso 2021-03-19 19:47:21 UTC
KDE Neon also works fine, will try clean manjaro tomorrow on Virtual box
Comment 16 Sancho Panso 2021-03-19 23:03:50 UTC
So, on the fresh manjaro - everything works fine... I even don't know where to find solution
Comment 17 Sancho Panso 2021-03-19 23:05:51 UTC
Strange thing - Yakuake (it's dropdown terminal) understands where is latte panel and don't overlaps it.
Comment 18 Sancho Panso 2021-03-19 23:25:55 UTC
Finally. Everything is ok for now. I upgraded KF5 to 5.80 and rebuilt latte dock
