Similar issue, 3 messages reported as unread, but all are read
I have probably the same or a similar issue; the 3 messages shown in the folder box cannot be found; I have refreshed the folder by now several times. Problem is already at least 6 months old.
Akonadi was configured with postgres, mail account is office365 IMAP.
If I knew how to debug it better, I would.

Another occurrence of the bug
I also encounter this bug from time to time. Don't know how I made it disappear previous times. Some random things with akonadi I suppose. The backend is EWS connector.

The folder list shows 2 unread messages but filtering reveals none. This happened a few times already, and then it goes away somehow. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Don't know; jut using Kmail randomly ends up in a situation like this. OBSERVED RESULT Number of unread messages is inconsistent with the message list. EXPECTED RESULT Filtering the message list for unread messages should give exactly the same number of results as indicated by the folder.
