I can't reproduce them not being recolored on git master. I did notice that when I add a toolbar, the tools area separator is duplicated unless you make the window inactive and then active again, but that sounds like a separate issue. Created attachment 135771 [details]

Someone mentioned that he could reproduce the bug after closing okular and opening it again (with the toolbar shown i guess). Does that help you?
