Description Dan Dascalescu 2021-02-13 07:14:36 UTC
When I launch the emoji picker, it defaults to the Recent tab, but I want to search for a different emoji, or just type its name. Fortunately, Ctrl+F works, but the other standard shortcut, `/`, would be quicker.

Is the search box not enabled by default?
Comment 2 Dan Dascalescu 2021-02-14 06:32:15 UTC
No, https://i.imgur.com/uekgR2u.png

The default is the Recent tab.
Comment 3 David Redondo 2021-02-15 10:35:54 UTC
Just start typing and it will automatically switch to the search tab
Comment 4 Dan Dascalescu 2021-02-15 22:23:31 UTC
Nothing happens when I start typing [a-z] in this version.

I don't see an About so can't easily see what version it is. I'm running the KDE 5.8.15 that came with Kubuntu 20.04 LTS.

Yes, it wasn't that way in 5.18, but type-to-search was implemented in 5.20 IIRC. In that version, typing "/" will actually put it in the search field, letting you know that typing anything will work too. So I don't think we need to explicitly add support for the "/" key.
