SUMMARY
Dragging doesn't work anywhere in the UI when using wayland: tried to drag text from a message, email addresses, messages in the message list, folders, and nothing happens. It works fine on xcb, and it also works on wayland in other KDE applications

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run kmail on wayland
2. Try to drag anything: text, messages, folders...

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens

I can confirm this running:

Linux Kernel (Distribution): 5.10.16 (Arch Linux)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0
KDE Applications Version: 20.12.2
Qt Version: 5.15.2

I can confirm this as well.
trying to drag emails to folders doesn't work
and trying to change the order of the favorite folders in favorite folders view also doesn't work. Because the only way to do this(that I know of) is by dragging and dropping.
