SUMMARY
The context menus of panel applets is almost unusable on a Wayland session in 5.21. When trying to move the cursor to a menu item, the menu disappears 90% of the times

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right-click on a panel applet to bring up the context menu (most visible on taskbar items)
2. Try to select an item on the menu

OBSERVED RESULT

The menu disappears before the menu item can be selected

The menu seems to be destroyed at the same time as the tooltip

Does the menu disappear when a sub-menu is shown?

No, it does disappear when some sub-menus are closed (for instance the "Add panel" one which, by the way, appears on the top-left corner of the screen with its own window decoration). For other sub-menus (like the "more actions" item on taskbar items) it doesn't happen. But it always disappears when the tooltip is destroyed.

For me this occurs because of the tooltip that is shown when hovering, as it appears almost at the same time as my right click.
If I wait for the tooltip to disappear, the menu doesn't disappear.

This also happens with the thumbnails of the task manager.

I can reproduce this consistently on KWin from git.
