I see mixed behavior with the same versions in KDE Neon. I set up an event with a 30-minute reminder, and suspender the reminders 5 minutes at a time. When I restarted immediately after a suspension, reminders resumed after I logged in. When I shut down, and powered back on after the suspension period had passed, reminders did not resume. As a follow-up, I think all relevant reminders are there (in $HOME/.config/korgacrc). Anyway the time for the suspended entries is not updated, meaning it remains at a time before restarting the computer. This may be one source of the bug. No response in addition to the confirmation? I consider this to be an essential feature of a tool such as kontact or korganizer. It is right at the core of a calendar to remind about events. As reminders about emails set in kmail are also entered into a calendar and show up after reboot there must be a way to solve the problem. I sympathize, but KOrganizer suffers from a chronic shortage of developer interest. I am using my (limited) time to pursue a different bug at the moment. For a possible work-around, if you have an Android device, you could use KOrganizer to create the event in a Google calendar, and let Google deliver the reminder. If you have an interest in C++ coding, I could help you get started in KDE development. As of version 22.04.0 (5.20.0), korgac has been replaced by a new reminder daemon, kalendarac. If you have upgraded to that version, please watch for unreliable reminders and report them as bugs for product "Reminder Daemon". I couldn't reproduce this bug with kalendarac. When I pressed its "Remind in 5 mins" button and shut down until well after the 5 minutes had elapsed, the reminder popped up as soon as I logged in. |
