Description Toadfield 2021-01-03 00:30:26 UTC
So what I mean is,for example,if you make a recording and switch to another virtual desktop, then that will be recorded, and that's not what I want, cause for real monitors, they obviously won't get recorded if you don't select that they will be recorded.

So what I want is,that they get seen as different monitors by applications,so that if for example you make a screen recording in Discord,so that you can choose which virtual desktop gets recorded and if I switch between my virtual desktops, that the people that watch the recording, don't see the other virtual desktops.

I also want that you can set for which specific virtual desktops act like real monitors in system settings,so that Discord doesn't think that I have 20 Screens lol.

These seem like bugs in Discord. The way screen recording works on X11 is 100% up to the app, not KWin. Things are different on Wayland, but on X11, you'll need to go tell the Discord devs about this.

That's what I mean,I know that discord doesn't support it,what I wanna do is being able to fake that virtual desktops are real monitors,so that they are shown as real monitors from all programs so they don't need to support that.

I understand that this is what you want to to. :) However it's not really feasible to add these kinds of hacks. Apps should behave properly so that hacks are not needed. I would again recommend that you contact the developers of those apps and ask them to fix the issues.

It's not an issue with the programs, they behave like they should and how most people want it.
But I don't want it and I would need a lot of time to request this to every recording application.
