Gilles, these escape sequences have been around since a KF5 patch and I've been watching it for a while. They are the window positions for Wayland. I will investigate it more closely and then report KF5 as a bug. Maik Can you reproduce the problem with our Windows bundle? https://files.kde.org/digikam/ A test here in a Windows 10 VM shows no problems after 10 attempts, digiKam does not remain in the task manager. I tried to keep as many windows open as possible on exiting while running a scan or video, etc. You create the Windows bundle yourself, did you apply any additional patches? Maik @Maik - Problem occurs with windows bundle downloaded and installed from https://files.kde.org/digikam/ In my environment some photos are stored locally but most are stored on a shared network drive. The network drive resides on a slow NAS device (connected to router and accessed via WiFi with PC). The problem occurs when a photo is transferred from an album on the local drive to an album on the shared drive. After the photo is transferred, digikam is closed. In that case, a digikam process remains running and must be terminated using task manager.
