Works for me in English, and I see in the code that there's supposed to be a message there. Does it happen again for you if you temporarily switch the language to English? Does it happen again for you if you temporarily switch the > language to English? In facts, if SDDM displays a list of users, even in English locale or in French, there is no wrong password feedback. BUT if user must enter his user name and his password, the "Failed login" message is displayed. I upload to my youtube account a video of this behaviour.
