Why? It's just a personal preference. As you can see in the attachment, many capacity bars are in red. They are distracting me from the overall more blue/dark style. Also, I have the feeling they indicate something bad, which makes me feel uncomfortable. The last point is, that most things in dolphin have the same structure, but since the capacity bars are sometimes blue sometimes red and don't always have the same length, they kind of feel out of place. To sum it up: It's just a personal preference. > Also, I have the feeling they indicate something bad, which makes me feel uncomfortable.
This is intentional, because they do indicate something bad: those disks are more than 90% full, which can cause degraded performance--to say nothing of the risk of imminently running out of space the next time you try to move or copy a file there.
I'm not sure we'll be able to make the bars optional, sorry. :)
Okay, thank you :) We won't make them optional, but maybe it could make sense to only show them on mouse hover, like in the file dialog. In fact if https://phabricator.kde.org/D26067 and its companion Dolphin branch broulik/kfileplacesview get merged, we'll get that automatically. |
