*** Bug 430598 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I'm afraid we prioritise KDE apps in neon. When we update Qt that will mean apps depending on older Qt and not part of KDE can not be installed. The answer is to make it a KDE app, use a containerised package (snap/flatpak/appimage) or use another distro. Okay. It's a bit disappointing from a user perspective as a lot of interesting programs use Qt and are not KDE apps (especially in the scope of music applications), but I understand rebuilding all Qt-based apps is way too laborious. I personally avoid snap/flatpak/appimage, for they take up unnecessary amounts of disk space, and are often not well-integrated into the system. So maybe I should really switch distribution. I'm leaning towards OpenSuse since some time anyway (Leap or maybe Tumbleweed). |
