SUMMARY
When I open kdenlive picture inside is bigger than monitor area, preview resolution is 1:1. If I change project settings to another resolution and back to my original, picture inside Project monitor fits inside again. This happens every time I open kdenlive 20.08.3, windows 10 latest version.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

When I open kdenlive picture inside is bigger than monitor area, preview resolution is 1:1. If I change project settings to another resolution and back to my original, picture inside Project monitor fits inside again. This happens every time I open kdenlive 20.08.3, windows 10 latest version..

Which type of clip do you use (MP4, 1080p, 50fps?). 

Please check with daily build. Use the standalone version with ending 7z so you don't have to install it.

You mentioned that this happens every time you open kdenlive. So is it independent of the project or clip you use? If so: what graphic card do you have? Do you use anything special like OpenGL?

Please test also if this is still occurs with the latest version (https://kdenlive.org/en/download/)
