Description Matej Mrenica 2020-12-03 14:51:53 UTC
SUMMARY
...except the regular sound volume feedback, and only in one channel. Issue is present since the switch from Pulseaudio to Pipewire distro-wide.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Play a video
2. Change audio level

OBSERVED RESULT
Both (all) channels produce a sound signaling a volume change (assuming this is enabled) and there is another sound just in the right speaker.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Probably not caused by Plasma, but something else.

I can reproduce this on openSUSE Tumbleweed so it's clearly not distro-specific. It's very odd.

I also strongly suspect that this is an upstream issue but I have no proof whatsoever. :)
Comment 2 Matej Mrenica 2020-12-03 20:29:51 UTC
Does Tumbleweed use Pulseaudio or Pipewire or do you think it's just a coincidence that it broke the same day the change happened?
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2020-12-03 20:52:16 UTC
Pipewire is installed, but I don't understand how these things are configured well enough to know if it's using used instead of PulseAudio, sorry.
Comment 4 Nate Graham 2022-09-08 04:55:46 UTC
Probably not a coincidence. Please report to https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/issues if it's still happening to you (it's not happening to me anymore). Thanks!
