Description David Chmelik 2020-11-18 02:41:02 UTC
SUMMARY

The panel, when more than full, used to have drop-down lists of instances of any program. It seems these have been removed, and replaced (on a normal non-icon-only task manager) with having to continue to select a program icon/name several times to step through all the programs, which is extremely inconvenient, and basically unusable in the case you might have tens of instances (yes, I do that sometimes.)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open programs to fill panel.
2. Open more of one program.
3. Look for the normal drop-down list of instances: no longer there.

OBSERVED RESULT

Forces you to step through (with mouse button) each instance without a list: extremely mouse-heavy.

EXPECTED RESULT

Just allow the normal drop-down list.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 David Chmelik 2020-11-18 02:42:43 UTC
Also when I said 'allow,' I do not mean 'replace,' which one of my suggestions for KDE4 was misinterpreted as, to the dislike of several/many people (and later myself.) It's okay to have more options.

You can configure the behaviour when clicking a grouped task in the Task Manager settings.
