That's odd. Can you share a screenshot? Created attachment 133425 [details]

That's odd. What widget style are you using? Does it go away if you use the Breeze widget style? I didn't see any setting specifically called widgets, but am using a mix of Oxygen, Redmond/Windows & Plastik style. When I change to Breeze, yes, the ampersands disappear, but I just switched back, as I prefer the styles I have. It's readable enough for me (more of a joke saying it was hard to find, could be for some people.) Even if the style I use isn't updated, that'd be okay for me, but in the case it affects anyone else and they don't like it, someone had to report it... Seems like a bug in your widget theme. You should report it to the developer of the widget theme you're using. Or, if that developer is you, you should go fix it. :) I am not the theme's developer. Are widgets set in 'System Settings -> application style -> window decorations,' or what...? System Settings > Application Style > Application Style There I'm just using MS Windows 9x, as before KDE, I mostly used Windows as a non-OS GUI, and then GUI OS. I don't know where to report to their developers... it's built-in, anyway, apparently, so I'd guess somewhere here (I don't tend to add appearance themes from KDE Store.) The 'MS Windows 9x' widget style comes from Qt developers. If you are using a recent Qt version (5.15.x), then please report the issue to https://bugreports.qt.io/ Just for future reference: I've tested a few themes (Qt 5.15.1, qt5-style-plugin 5.0.0+git, Plasma 5.19.5) and I've found out that: The & is visible with MS Windows 9x, Fusion, cde and motif . It does work as expected on Breeze, Oxygen, QtCurve, plastique, gtk, cleanlooks, adwaita. I'm not sure whether MS Windows 9x is part of Qt or not, in that case the bug should be probably RESOLVED UPSTREAM, but the main point is that it's not on KDE side. Fusion being broken is a bit worrying, as it's shipped with Qt. Just for reference, if you are looking for a classing Windows look, you may try some modern themes (in terms of development) like https://github.com/grassmunk/Chicago95 (I haven't tested it) Calling it resolved seems ridiculous: KDE after all, being users of Qt, who could report bugs about what KDE is using.
