SUMMARY
It installs fine and I even here 'Welcome to Gcompris' upon attempting a start. Thereafter nothing happens and no Gcompris window opens.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Gcompris qt 0.97 Darwin dmg package on Mac OSX 10.13.6
2. Try to start it.
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
No Gcompris window

EXPECTED RESULT
Gcomrpis window should open with all listed activities

Hi,
thanks for reporting the bug.
Can you try to remove the configuration file in /Users/username/Library/Preferences/gcompris/ (replace username by your actual username... Also the Library folder is hidden by default)

And try again?
