SUMMARY

I would like to see the ability to automatically Rebuild Finger-prints at startup. Currently when I launch digiKam it performs a scan for new items then I have to manually run the rebuild finger-prints maintenance.

I'm not sure if this can be a good idea to permit to rebuild fingerprints at startup.

We trying to optimize a lots the startup time of application. Including this stage will increase this state.

Of course this can be optional...

I wouldn't expect it to be the default but if it could be an option like "Scan for new items at startup" that would be awesome.

Are there any updates on if this can be made an option on startup?
