SUMMARY
Screen recording function only works in mute. When screen recording with audio, it will crash.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to View -> Screen Grab to activate screen recorder widget.
2. Click on the Configure icon in the Screen Grab widget and on the "Screen Grab" tab, choose "X264 with audio" from the "Encoding Profile" dropdown. 
3. Hit the "Record" button to start recording.

OBSERVED RESULT
The recording fails to launch and the error message "Failed to start capture application: C:/Program Files/kdenlive/bin/ffmpeg.exe" appears (see attached screen shot)

EXPECTED RESULT
The screen recording should have appeared as a new .mov file in the Project bin after the Record button is hit twice (once to start and once to stop).

Goto settings -> configure Kdenlive -> Environment -> make sure the paths of FFmpeg, FFpplay, FFprobe has the same root directory as MLT.
