For some reason, the layer blending modes are not translated to Japanese with Krita 4.4.0 anymore, while they are with 4.3.0.
I can confirm with the appimage at least.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set application language to Japanese (日本語)
2. Restart Krita

OBSERVED RESULT
Layer blending modes like "Normal", "Screen" etc. are in english in the drop-down menu.

That's probably because we now use the stable branch translations instead of the master branch translations, so the translators have to check those.
Comment 2 Halla Rempt 2020-10-14 08:34:58 UTC
This isn't specific to Japanese, it happens with other languages as well.
Comment 3 Alvin Wong 2021-07-13 09:53:40 UTC
From what I can tell it *is* specific to certain languages that do have blending mode messages marked as fuzzy due to the i18n context being added some time in the past. In both 4.4.5 and master (5.0) the blending mode names are translating fine for zh_CN/zh_TW/pt/etc. The Japanese l10n team needs to update their Krita translations.

Okay, then we can close this bug.
