Did you try the configure button to the LEFT of the "Enable Power Management" setting in that system tray popup? Now I set a sticky note mentioning to turn off powermanagement to remind me to do so. It's been one month I posted this question and I even forget about it until I saw a notification on my mail regarding this topic I posted. I guess you need to be more specific which part of the power management you need to switch off. On the settings page, you can individually disable many aspects (screen time, automatic suspend etc.), but it's possible we forget one. I want to stop the screen from automatically locking out or sleeping. Since my laptop keyboard is damaged, if my computer sleep and after that the whole system won't respond. Can only move mouse and keyboard will not work. Problem is Even when I un-ticked all options from the right side of menu of enable power management as you mentioned in your early reply that wont' work well too. After 20 or some minutes the computer still goes to a blank screen. Then I need to push power button to turn the system forcefully off. If I un-tick the enable power management option manually everything is fine. So is there any way to permanently disable power management. Can you add screen shots of the system settings power management pages? If you can provide the information requested in comment 7, please add it. You can disable these behaviors from System Settings on the Energy Saving page. The applet is meant to offer a quick temporary override, not a way to permanently set things up. |
Created attachment 132267 [details] Screenshot of the problem and option I need to disable. SUMMARY I cannot disable power management permanently. Even if I did the entire screen become blank after a period of time. Then it doesn't respond to any keyboard keys and I could only move my mouse. Only options is forced shutdown. If I press battery Icon and UNTICK enable power management this problem will not happen. But most time I forget to do that, and forced shutdown already did damage to HDD and OS. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3.
