SUMMARY
Cannot remove avatar in KCM Users.

user-manager had a menu item to remove the avatar, not this option is gone in the new Users KCM.

FWIW, this is intentional. Additionally, always having an avatar is required by the Accounts Service after you initially set one, so it's not technically possible currently anyway. This is why we provide the initials avatars: they're for when you don't want an image, and they're essentially the Accounts Service-sanctioned "null" option.
