What happens if you manually run `plasmashell` from a terminal? It output nothing and does nothing. The issue is still there. Typing `plasmashell --replace` in krunner works however? That means that we have a plasmashell running but something is wrong with the actual desktopview. When you change the resolution I think we are getting a new Containment Could I provide something in order to know what's wrong with the desktop view? Definitely reminds me of Bug 426496.
