SUMMARY

"Night color control" addon isn't working, getting error: "Failed to connect to the window manager"


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open "Night color control" from system tray

OBSERVED RESULT
Getting error: "Failed to connect to the window manager"

EXPECTED RESULT
"Night color control" working, getting error: "Failed to connect to the window manager"

Resolving as "not a bug" because Night Color is feature of KWin, and Night Color Control is just GUI for controlling it. You are using i3wm which doesn't have feature like "Night Color" and thus support for it cannot even be added.

P.S. I found on a web some mentions of "redshift" program to achieve this feature in i3wm.
