Description Andrey Kozlovskiy 2020-09-03 14:41:38 UTC
For some reason I need to double press the start/stop button on my bluetooth headset to pause or resume media playback, for example if I am using Elisa or if I am playing some video in Firefox with plasma-integration plugin enabled.
My bluetooth headset is Sony WI-C400, I use Kubuntu 20.04.1 LTS.
Can anybody confirm this problem? Maybe it depends on the headset, or maybe this should be fixed upstream?

Can I have output of

"xev" when you press the button
"dbus-monitor" when you press the button

(please check the latter for sensitive information before uploading it)

Attached output of xev and dbus-monitor commands.
I also marked the the moments of presses: you can search for 'First press', 'Second press', 'Third press', 'Fourth press' framed with # symbols.
dbus-monitor does not display anything on intermediate presses (presses after which nothing happens).

Actually, sometimes dbus-monitor has an output on intermediate presses, see the attachment.

This is still an issue in Kubuntu 20.10 (Plasma 5.19.5).
On the other hand, Ubuntu 20.10 (Gnome 3.38) works fine with the same headset - single press to start/stop playback as it should be.
