This would allow you to open up multiple images simultaneously and view them side by side in a grid. This would be useful if your trying to use multiple images as a reference and don't want to switch through multiple gwenview windows.

You already can. :) Select multiple images in the browse view and then open them.

I didn't even know you could do that. Maybe the UX around it could be improved to make it more obvious you can open multiple images together?
