I think the problem has already been reported. But I can't reproduce it. Are they RAW files? The original size of the image may not be correctly determined from the metadata data. Otherwise, upload an example image that shows the problem. Maik Created attachment 130880 [details] Example for Bug 425359 (What happened to my original comment?) Triggering it may be related to running the Image Editor prior to tagging. I tagged a few photos without running the Image Editor and could not reproduce. Then I ran the Editor on the attached file, performed a local contrast and color auto correction (both with default settings), saved, and exited the Editor. After I tagged the boy in the water I could not find his associated face rectangle. When I tagged the other boy, all was fine. (BTW, I had to resize this photo to add as an attachment; is there any way to upload the original?) It may also have something to do with cropping and/or rotating the image in the Editor; I've been able to reproduce it just using those changes. Not in the camera settings of the camera, but in the digiKam camera settings in the digiKam setup. ((:-)) In the Renaming section of the import tool you will see a link stating whether metadata is being used. The link takes you to the digiKam camera settings under Behavior there is the option. Maik So is the problem something that happens at import time? I unchecked the box "Use file metadata (makes connection slower)" and the behavior persists. What is the upshot of using/not using file metadata? Just imported a file with metadata NOT used and the problem persists. Another data point, although just anecdotal: after performing edits and returning to the preview screen, just before tagging if I click on another thumbnail and then return to the original, I can tag and the problem does not appear. If I tag immediately after the edits, the problem more often than not recurs. Hi Tom and happy new year, Can you check if the problem remain with current digiKam 7.5.0 pre-release available here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier I believe this may have been fixed as far back as 7.2, certainly 7.3. The extra confirmation step on face tags seems to have ushered in the fix. Thanks Gilles and Maik for all the hard work you do! |
