Attachments: Layer stack with disconnected 'highlighted' and 'selected'

Description Ralek Kolemios 2020-08-06 23:19:52 UTC
I'm not sure what causes it, but recently (within the last 2 weeks or so) my currently active layer switches to a group layer way more times than usual. (potentially any 'top-level' layer? Only seen so far on group layers)

I only notice it when I begin trying to draw on my current working layer, and the brush doesn't work. I check my layer stack to notice that the group layer is now selected. I'm not sure how or why it got selected. I've had 0 problems with this in the year or so I've used Krita, and now the above happens at least 15 or more times in an 4-8 hour session.

I may have to resort to recording my screen to try and figure out just when the switch happens. I understand this isn't currently helpful or reproducible (consistently), but it is definitely happening regularly at least for me and I figured I might as well open this for future reference.

Layer stack with disconnected 'highlighted' and 'selected'

Speak of the devil, just happened again. Took some screengrabs. Couldn't figure out what caused it, though. perhaps a mis-assigned keyboard shortcut?

I noticed I couldn't draw, I got the red 'disallowed' cursor. And when I tried to draw, a tooltip came up in the upper left that said "This layer is hidden" or something similar.

-The layer I was drawing on (and had been drawing on for 30 minutes, never switching) was still highlighted, as it should be.
-The layer that the program thought was selected was the only top-level group layer (In the screenshot, 'Group 15') You can tell it thinks this because the layer name is bold.

Did you change any keyboard shortcuts yourself? Does this happen with a completely clean configuration?
