Works here with digiKam-7.0.0 without problems. Do you use the AppImage? Please test it with digiKam-7.0.0 from here: https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Maik It's not reproducible here too, using 7.0.0... Gilles Another note to highlight selected file. This only works with a native digiKam version with DBus support. DBus support is deactivated in the AppImage for various reasons. There is then a fallback to a function of QDesktopService to open the file manager. Maik Tried installing the 7.0.0-rc release via software store (flathub). it will not launch. I cannot figure out how to install via that link sent. I'd rather figure out what is going on with the stable 6.4.0 version. Is there a way of forcing it to use the file manager? My OS is ubuntu based (Zorin). I'm using the default file explorer that comes with OS. You could start digiKam in the terminal and see if there is relevant output. Otherwise, Google says to Ubuntu that the xdg-utils may not be installed. Maik Ok, the issue lies with the OS. I tried kubuntu 20.04 with the stable digikam 6.4 release and it works fine. I suggest to close this and mark this down to issue with a particular distribution (Zorin). |
