Can you attach a screenshot while the system is in this state, as well as a photo of how the screen physically looks? Thanks! Also can you upgrade to a newer version and see if it's fixed? I believe Debian testing has 5.17.5 now. ...which is still old-ish (we're on 5.19 now), but it's newer than 5.14.5!
