Wrong Qt version reported. It's 5.12.7 Confirmed on 5.18.5 on Kubuntu. Now let's see if I can get a backtrace, as Plasmashell crashes completely and the whole computer becomes unresponsive... setting to crash, I can't even access a shell anymore, Ctrl+Alt+F1/F7 is not responding anymore For me doing a user switch leads to plasmashell crash followed by coredump and SDDM is restarted. I am running Plasma 5.19.3. I have two related issues. 1. When I lock the screen and change to the "Switch user" screen, then select the user I have just locked the screen with, I can log back in, but my session is completely gone. When I click on the "Switch user" button on the log screen, I hear a pop, so probably SDDM restarts at that point? 2. I also get black screen, but under slightly different circumstances. When I switch to another pty with e.g. Ctrl+Alt+F6, and then back to F7, all I get is a black screen with an unfunctional cursor in the top left corner. I have to kill the sddm-helper process to be able to get back to the UI. However, the programs I was running in the original GUI session are still alive (at least Firefox is), even though orphaned. I am not sure whether the second issue is related or is a completely different bug, but both problems point to the same "SDDM seems broken" direction. > I am not sure whether the second issue is related or is a completely

Forgot my config:
KDE Neon 5.19 (should be 5.20 though, I remember upgrading)
Plasma version: 5.19.4
Frameworks version: 5.73.0
Qt version: 5.14.2
Kernel version: 5.4.0-42
i965-va-driver: 2.4.0-0ubuntu1
I just reported a possible duplicate of this, with additional info. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426194 Confirmed on KDE 5.20.5 KDE Frameworks 5.78 Qt 5.15.2 Fedora RPMs STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Login as any user and click on "Lock Screen" 2. On the upcoming screen click on "Switch User" Black screen results. Hi there still the issue on: Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20210221 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.10.16-1-default OS Type: 64-bit Graphics Platform: X11 Hello, What was the last Plasma version without this bug? Does one know the last openSUSE KDE package without this issue? Most appreciated. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 426194 *** |
