Looks like an old issue. Setting it to needs more info. Please try with a newer version(plasma 5.23.5) and if this is not an issue any more let us know. Bugs placed into NEEDSINFO status will receive a reminder if the ticket: Is at least 15 days old Has not received any comment within 15 days If a bug remains in NEEDSINFO for another 15 days with no comment, it will be closed as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME. If a bug remains in NEEDSINFO with a comment provided within less than 15 days, no action will be taken (as it does not meet the above criteria). It is reproducible on plasma 5.23.5 Sorry it's taken us so long to get to this. I Cannot reproduce the issue in Plasma 6 (which is scheduled to be released in 5 days). If you can, would you be able to attach a screen recording that shows the issue happening so I can make sure I'm testing in the right way? Thanks a lot! Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days. Please provide the requested information as soon as possible and set the bug status as REPORTED. Due to regular bug tracker maintenance, if the bug is still in NEEDSINFO status with no change in 30 days the bug will be closed as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME due to lack of needed information. For more information about our bug triaging procedures please read the wiki located here: https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Bug_triaging If you have already provided the requested information, please mark the bug as REPORTED so that the KDE team knows that the bug is ready to be confirmed. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #3) > Sorry it's taken us so long to get to this. I will test it on plasma 6 later. Created attachment 167578 [details]
Demonstration how items change order on taskbar
Attachment created on plasma 6.0.2 When sort mode is "Manually" highlighted items does not change position on taskbar while switching desktops. "Do not sort" should be as well as "Manually". Part of the problem here is that "Do not sort" and "Manually" are nonsensical to have as two options, since they mean the same thing to most people. I think that "Do not Sort" is being used as a sort of way to lock positions, but we should really just make a deliberate feature to lock positions. "Do not sort" is actually not guaranteed to keep the positions fixed; it simply means that *you* can't change them. The system is free to change them. Yes indeed, this is a bit silly, if that's what you were thinking. See also Bug 502465. |
