Description Efe Ciftci 2020-06-20 11:04:46 UTC
SUMMARY
Starting with either Plasma 5.19.1 or Frameworks 5.71 packages, Dolphin has lost the ability to fetch stored username and passwords from kdewallet for remote ftp/sftp locations.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch Dolphin.
2. Enter ftp/sftp url into location bar. The entered location must already have a previously recorded username/password entry in the kdewallet.

OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin prompts for username and password.

EXPECTED RESULT
Dolphin should fetch the stored username and password information from kdewallet and display contents of the remote location without any prompts.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.19
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This bug has started on the day (2020-06-16) when KDE neon 5.19 User Edition received many kdewallet updates due to wallets being unable to be unlocked. Now I can currently successfully unlock the wallet and other apps/components (kmail, network manager, etc) can connect to the wallet to fetch the password, but Dolphin can not.

It seems this bug has been resolved in Frameworks 5.72; I'm no longer encountering the problems I've previously mentioned.
