Description Riccardo Robecchi 2020-06-19 20:29:55 UTC
SUMMARY
Once Discover notifies the user of the need to reboot, the indicator stops working as a notifier of additional updates being made available. So if more updates become available before the user restarts the computer, they have no way of knowing unless they manually check.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install an update that requires restart (e.g. kernel)

OBSERVED RESULT
The notifier icon changes to one that says "system restart is required", but this replaces the previous behaviour of notifying the user about new updates.

EXPECTED RESULT
The notifier continues delivering information about available updates. If the user does not restart the system immediately, for example because they need to carry out work, they stop being notified of new updates. This means they need to open Discover and check for updates manually. Therefore the expected behaviour of the notifier is broken.
