SUMMARY

Page: https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tools/Using_kconf_update

I suggest adding to this page a section that explains how to test the .upd files when the application is installed in a custom prefix.

In the article it is said that "Updating the configuration happens automatically, either when KDE gets started or when kded detects a new update file in the above mentioned location."

It is not clear though how to make kded picks up files in another locations while testing an application.

My scenario:
- Manually compiled Okular (without kdesrc-build)
- Installed Okular in a custom prefix
- Used the prefix.sh script to configure the environment

I just realized the product "KDE MediaWiki" is for bugs of the platform not for the content of the Wiki.

Where can this bug be moved?

Nowhere; we don't track issues with wiki content using a bug tracker. It's a wiki; just change it yourself. :)
