Just tested and it works on X. So this is Wayland specific.
Comment 2 Harald Sitter 2020-06-15 08:29:59 UTC
Moving to klipper. This is a wayland problem, though I'm not sure if it is klipper or qclipboard that's the problem here. What I see in wayland is that any copy from any app isn't persistent beyond the life time of the app and also they are not tracked in klipper.
Comment 3 Patrick Silva 2020-06-15 12:20:38 UTC
Same thing on neon unstable.
Comment 4 Claudius Ellsel 2020-08-05 22:12:09 UTC
Might have been fixed by the recent clipboard improvement for Wayland. I have not tested it, though. If you can confirm, this might be a duplicate of the relevant bug report (I guess making Klipper work on Wayland).
Comment 5 Patrick Silva 2020-08-27 14:29:43 UTC
possibly duplicate of bug 424649
Comment 6 Claudius Ellsel 2020-09-10 18:26:04 UTC
Just tested with a Plasma session compiled from master. It is still happening for me, so I assume that https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/1 did not fix this.

Is this a hint that qclipboard is causing this?
Comment 7 Patrick Silva 2020-11-01 11:28:32 UTC
I can't reproduce on neon unstable.

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0
Comment 8 Claudius Ellsel 2020-11-01 14:41:42 UTC
Possibly https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/365 fixed this. I will add Aleix to the CC of this bug, so he can clarify.
Comment 9 Aleix Pol 2020-11-01 18:29:54 UTC
What my fix addresses is only related to xwayland. This was originally reported on 5.19 which IIRC didn't have clipboard management supported yet.

Either
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/1
or
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/365

fixed it depending on the technologies used. It should be safe to close right now.

Alright.

Maybe there were two different bugs at different stages of this bug causing the same symptoms.
