Thanks for your report! I cannot reproduce (using placeholder clips). Can you please update to the latest version (20.12.3 at the moment, https://kdenlive.org/en/download/) or the nightly build and report here whether this is still happening? If this is still happening please try to start the appimage from the terminal and provide the output. The current version kdenlive-20.12.3-x86_64.appimage doe4sn't produce the error anymore.
