SUMMARY

When I'm logged in with a "network" user (account data from NIS, $HOME from NFS via autofs) the logout options of "reboot" ad "shutdown" only take me back to the login screen

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. setup networked users: NIS, NFS, autofs
2. log in on a client PC using a "networked" account
3. when logging out, select "reboot" or "shutdown"

OBSERVED RESULT
You get returned to your login screen

EXPECTED RESULT
Computer should reboot or shut down according to what option you selected

created a local user on the system in question: reboot and shutdown options work as expected
used a different session type with a networked user: reboot and shutdown options work as expected

Verified on two separate systems, with several networked accounts.

has not happened for quite some time now, and my underlying infrastructure has changed a lot by now. If noone else still reproduces this it can be closed.

OK cool, thanks for following up!
