SUMMARY
Initial deal has 3 of a kind (say, 3 queens) and often adds 3 of another kind (say, 3 8's) then the 4th queen will show up within 3 deals (dealing 3 cards). It's just annoying and almost unwinnable.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. start klondike
2. start kpatience
3. play

OBSERVED RESULT
as stated above

a bit more randomness?

I assume you're talking about klondike. The shuffling of the cards is truely random. You can't make it more random. It's using an algorithm coming from the original window 3 freecell. If the randomness frustrates you, I'm sorry.
