SUMMARY
Just compare 2 folders, during comparison UI becomes unresponsive.

Using ubuntu builds:
dpkg -l | grep kdiff3
ii  kdiff3                                        1.8.01-1build1                              amd64        compares and merges 2 or 3 files or directories
ii  kdiff3-doc                                    1.8.01-1build1                              all          documentation for kdiff3

Running kdiff3 from terminal on xfce4.

Try 1.8.2 it fixes a bug where files were not being closed after accessing them. This does not reproduce readily on my machine with current 1.8 or master. The latest releases are at https://download.kde.org/stable/kdiff3/.

Marking as solved since works perfectly fine with Version 1.9.6 (64 bit).
