SUMMARY
The color of a Gtk2 application does not match the system theme.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install kde-gtk-config
2. Go to systemsettings5 > Colors and apply a theme
3. Open any Gtk2 application and realize that the colors didn't change

OBSERVED RESULT
The color of a Gtk2 application does not match the system theme.

EXPECTED RESULT
Gtk2 applications change color like Gtk3 applications.

Unfortunately GTK2 applications were not meant to be themed and re-colored in this way, so we can't reliably make it work. We used to have half-working support that was even worse, as applications were half re-colored and half not, leading to text and icons being illegible in various places. Since fixing it was effectively impossible, we had to remove the feature instead.

Apps should really move to GTK3. GTK2 is ancient.
